Peas – always fun to grow, always decimated by snails in my experience.

Every year, I race to do a slug pub, but it always ends up being too late.

This year I’m determined to get my peas through the season, uneaten by anything other than myself.

Interestingly, they say that one person needs 10-30 pea plants to sustain them for a year. I have 28 plants so far, hopefully enough to sustain my partner and I so long as the plants do well.

Having fresh greens like this can be a great morale boost, especially when you’ve been living off potatoes and tinned meat for weeks. Something fresh really makes all the difference.
