I was so determined to learn more about Fly Agaric, that I asked a friend to pick some for me. He was kind and did so, and I was so excited to study it further.

The problem was, the season was done. In the time it took for him to pass them to me and for me to get home, maggots were teeming from the mushrooms. I was gutted.

But.

Here’s the interesting thing.

My friend didn’t wrap them up when he picked them, he just put them in his bag. He didn’t see any maggots at that point, and he didn’t think anything of it.

Then, the next day, he packed his lunch as usual, putting it in the same bag, and he ate it without a worry. Shortly after, he started to hear things. Voices calling his name. Bicycle bells going off around him.  It lasted for days.

He didn’t mind, he’s a supporter of learning about nature and has a healthy curiosity for a little bit of witchcraft.

He seemed relieved to have escaped the nightmares though!
