I found this last year when exploring the woods and had to try it. Honestly, it was lovely! Great texture, gentle flavour, it was great! It’d be a great alternative to carbs in a dish, it’s that satisfying.
Apparently it’s one of those mushrooms that people can’t really grow in a controlled environment, so when you want to try it you have to go out foraging.
Initially I was a bit wary, of course. You should always be cautious with mushrooms, just in case. But I took my initial pictures, went away and did my research, and then came back. It was all done over a short period of time as they don’t last long, but I’m glad I did it. It may well be among my favourites.
The great thing with the texture is that it rips apart quite easily, so it’s really easy to clean!
Finding it was definitely a win!
